Morokin, Vyacheslav
Vyacheslav Morokin was born on April 4, 1945
in Barisovskaya Billage of the Ivanavo Region. He studied at the Palekh
Art School from 1960 to 1965 under B.M. Nemtinov. He worked at the Palekh
Art Works from 1968 to 1975. Before leaving the Palekh Art Works, he
became a member of the Artist's Union in 1974.
In 1971, Morokin
was commissioned to paint the foyer of the "Rossiya" State Concert Hall
under the supervision of his former teacher, B.M. Nemtinov. Other large
works consist of painting the banquet hall of a restaurant in Palekh,
rooms of fairytales in the Pushkin school in the Bauman district of
Moscow, and a kindergarten in Obninsk of the Kaluga region.
Themes that he prefers to work with come from folklore,
literature, history, and genre scenes. Some of his more well known pieces
are entitled, " Prince Bova, "The City of Craftsman", " The Cossack
Section", Red Sails", "Song of Merchant Kalshnikov", "Peter's Embassy" and
" Northern Song". His works have been exhibited since 1989 and are held
in the State Museum of Palekh Art, All Russian Museum of Decorative and
Applied Art, and the Ivanovo Regional Art Museum.
