Mayevskaya Tatyana Vladimirovna was born in 1970 in the village of Palekh, Ivanovo Region. Now she resides in her native village together with her husband and son.
In 1990 the artist finished the Palekh Art School. Her teachers were Ye.N. Vikhrev, A.S. Peskov, K.M. Semaikin. The diploma work of Mayevskaya T.V. was the casket entitled “The Tale of Sleeping Princess and Seven Bogatyrs”.
The creative works of Mayevskaya T.V. are “Scarlet flower” (1991), “Hostess of the Copper Mountain” (1991), “Tales of A.S. Pushkin” (1995), “Humpbacked Little Pony” (1998), “Fire Bird” (1990), “Ilya Muromets” (2000), “Spring” (2002), “Bunch of flowers” (2002).
At present Tatyana Vladimirovna works at the Union of Palekh Artists.
The artist paints her works in the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature using tempera paints. Themes of her works are fairy-tales and lyric subjects. Her favorite work was the miniature “Scarlet flower”.
Tatyana Vladimirovna thinks that while working on a lacquered miniature it is very important to follow and develop the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature. Beginning to paint she intends to express a chosen theme completely, to capture and define personalities and appearance of all main characters and to decorate a box with elegant ornaments.
The artist paints her works in bright, mellow tones. She uses in painting her personal technique methods such as “glaze” (covering a dry layer of tempera paints with a thin layer of semitransparent or transparent paints or lacquer in order to enrich coloring and get multitude of color tints) and rich usage of gold paint for decoration a box with ornaments. On the average it takes her a month to finish painting a miniature.
Tatyana Vladimirovna supposes her works are notable for mellow coloring, thin and detailed painting, skillfully painted lace architecture, precision of drawing, interesting themes and high quality of execution.
Works by such famous Palekh artists as N.M. Zinovyev, I.M. Bakanov, P.D. Bazhenov, T.I. Zubkova and also painting of the great Russian artists I.Ya. Bilibin and V.M. Vasnetsov had a great influence on the artist’s creativity.
Tatyana Vladimirovna comes of a family of artists. Her grandmother was a famous icon painter; her father V.A. Vlezko, brother A.V. Vlezko and sister V.V. Vlezko are also miniature-painters. The artist liked to draw from her childhood and always wanted to be an artist like her relatives.
In her free time Tatyana Vladimirovna likes to learn foreign languages and to go in for sport. She thinks people should take more interest in art, folk fairy-tales that arouse kindness and study poesy of A.S. Pushkin.
The artist hopes her works will bring luck and happiness to people.
