That laugh that can awaken memory and brighten up an entire room. Comments that exude natural hilarity that only they can find in the moment. Achievements, from tooth fairy glee to that first goal scored, ones that will never be forgotten. Children seem to develop faster and faster each week. But, it is the infectious smiles and their imaginative little worlds that give parents so much joy. In any language. In any country. By all means. Children are sure to leave a lasting impression.
This beautiful piece was created by the talented Alexander Kriger of Fedoskino. Kriger has a knack for developing photographic portrait into the lacquer miniature form. This piece is an excellent example of what can be achieved. Outside of the digital realm of photography, pictures just refuse to last as long as we'd like. Here, we see the artistic medium on a new level. A life-like transference from one piece of memory to another.
Oil-based paint is the primary medium used to complete the artistry before you. The colors of the clothing and the delightful facial expressions remain fully intact. The composition acts as the decoration for the lid while the black lacquer exterior is seen through the remainder of the piece. The interior of this particular piece was finished in red lacquer.
An excellent way to keep those photographic memories available for many years to come.
Materials: Oil-based paint, paper-mache, gold paint and lacquer.
