Kokoreva Ekaterina Nikolaevna (1972 - ...)  Click to play

Kokoreva Ekaterina Nikolaevna was born in 1972 in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo Region and resides there at present.

In 1991 the artist finished the Kholuy Art School. Her teachers were Karlov Vladimir Alexandrovich and Kolganova Lydia Ivanovna. Her diploma work was a composition entitled "Snowmaiden".

Now Ekaterina Nikolaevna works at the Kholuy Craft Workshops.

The artist paints in the style of Kholuy lacquered miniature, using tempera paints. She prefers to depict landscapes, especially sea landscapes.

Ekaterina Nikolaevna thinks that the most important elements in painting are fine brush mastery, painstaking and precise drawing of all details of a composition. She prefers to use in work transparent and pearl tones.

The artist has an individual sense of color. She applies in painting her personal artistic methods such as "lessirovka" and "plav". Her works are easily recognizable owing to thin, precise and painstaking painting.

Ekaterina Nikolaevna considers her work on a composition to be finished, when it starts to shine from within. The time, spent on painting a composition, depends only on the artist's mood.

Paintings of such prominent Kholuy artists as Baburin N.I, Karlov V.A. and Blinov V.K. had a great influence on E.N. Kokoreva' s creative work.

In her free time Ekaterina Nikolaevna likes to take a stroll in the forest, read and meet with her friends. She also likes flowers and animals.

The artist wishes to all admires of lacquer miniature art: "let your taste in painting be delicate".
