Komarov Mikhail Vladimirovich (1965 - ...)  Click to play

Komarov has a distinct style--the combination of vivid colors, defined lines, and unique decorations make his pieces stand out. Although still a relatively young artist, Komarov's biography is listed in L. N. Soloviova's book KHOLUY LACQUERED MINIATURES, and his piece entitled "Yermak's Swan" (1994) is pictured on page 136 of A.A. Kamorin's book LACQUER MINIATURE--KHOLUY. MASTERPIECES OF RUSSIAN FOLK ART. His works are also displayed in the Kholuy Museum of Lacquer Art.

Born in Kineshma, in the Ivanovo Region in 1965, Komarov completed the Kholuy Art School in 1986. His teachers were B.I. Kiseliov and V.N. Sedov. Be began working at the Kholuy Lacquer Miniature Factory immediately thereafter. He became a member of the Kholuy branch of the RSFSR Artists' Union in 1991. His major works include "Mikhailo Lomonosov" (1987), "Yermak's Swans" (1989), and "Mikula Selyaninovich" (1991).
