Morozov Alexander Alexeevich, miniature artist, born in Shuya, Ivanovo region, in 1942. He finished the Khooluy Art School in 1962, and has worked at the Kholuy Lacquer Miniature Factory ever since. A member of the RSFSR Artists' Union since 1977, Morozov's works have been displayed at many exhibitions. His major works include: "Sivka Burka" (1966), "Sadko" (1966), "The Magic World" (1966), "The Saga of Novgorod" and "For Russia" (1975), and "Yaroslav the Wise" (1982).

A.A. Morozov is artist in the romantic mould. His paintings are marked by lofty sentiments, a celebration of beauty, kindness and light. His early work appeared in the mid-1960s. A.A. Morozov took up the historical epic theme. He immersed himself in history and was interested in everything: the heroics, the mentality and the everyday life of the people of old Russia. If anything, he feels closer to them than to his contemporaries. A.A. Morozov was among the first to lift the veil off the historical past, thus putting his art in the context of art history. The very titles of his works speak volumes about the range and seriousness of his creative quests: "The Saga of Novgorod", "Defending Russia", "Yaroslav the Wise", "Birth of a Warrior".
