This Icon and easel painter was born in Ivanovo in 1886. He attended the Mstera Icon -Painting School from 1902-1904 and then the Kazan Art School from 1910-1914.

It was not until late in Golubev's (1934) career that he began participating in art exhibitions. It wasn't until this time that he also joined the USSR Union of Artists. He became the director of the Ivanovo Art School in 1936.
