Kamanina Anna Ivanovna (1956 - ...)  Click to play

Born in 1956 in the village of Palekh, Anna is the daughter of Palekh artist Ivan Kamanin. Anna studied at the Palekh Art School from 1971-1976, where her teachers were V.I. Golov and V.M. Khodov. She began working at the Palekh Art Workshops after she graduated, and became a member of the Artists' Union in 1989. Anna is a daughter of prominent Palekh miniature-artist Ivan Yakovlevich Kamanin.

Themes of her work revolve mostly around folklore, iwth titles such as "A Birch-Tree Stood in the Field", "The Firebird", "Russian Folk Songs", and "I Sit on a Stone". Exhibited since 1980, her works are also held in the All-Russia Museum of Decorative and Applied Art.
