Kosarev Alexander Vasilyevich (1897 - 1941)  Click to play

Alexander Kosarev was born in 1897 in the village of Terekhovo. He was a member of the Artel of Ancient Painting since 1933, where his teacher was I.I. Golikov. Kosarev fell in battle in 1941. Themes of his work were rustic motifs, battle scenes, and hunting scenes ("The Hunt", "By the Well", "Gypsies"). He began exhibiting in 1938, and his works are now held in the State Museum of Palekh Art and the All-Russia Museum of Decorative and Applied Art.
