On our website you will find a vast selection of Russian lacquer art, as well as information about the artists, the history, the themes depicted, and more. We also carry a variety of literature and other Russian art items. Each item is pictured and described in detail, so you can see exactly what we're offering. You can access our collection in several ways. You can look up your favorite artist to read his or her biography, and to see examples of their work. Enter a general word-search query to search by keywords, or a general theme, such as a fairytale. If you are looking for a box within a specific price range, you can search by cost with the links in the header. Finally, you can view our entire inventory at once (this option may take some time to download on slower connections).
Each of the search options will bring up a page with thumbnail images and brief information on the pieces found. Click on the thumbnails to bring up that item's page. Each piece is photographed in detail, and is accompanied by a full write-up about the theme and the physical attributes of the box. This is to give you the best idea of the box before you buy.
We attempt to get the best boxes, and purchase them directly from Russia. We do this by purchasing them directly from the artists, or from reputable dealers who represent them. We do research on the pieces that we purchase, and verify the authenticity of each item. One means of ensuring this is by going directly to the artist, whenever possible. We interview the artists about the piece and about their work in general. Our customers can be found all over the world.
All lacquer boxes presented and sold by us are unique within our collection. You will rarely find the same exact item presented simultaneously. Items can be purchased directly from our site via our secure server, and will be sent out via your carrier of choice within a 24 hour period, when purchased with a credit card.
We reveal a new 'collection'--a batch of new items--monthly, sometimes twice a month. If you would like to receive notice of the date and time of its release, we will be happy to add you to our electronic mailing list. Our newsletter is only released once or twice a month. It highlights some of the new pieces in the collection, and provides updates of recently added artist biographies, as well as any other additions or changes to the web site.
