Strunina Olga Lyvovna (1963 - ...)  Click to play

Born in 1966 in the village of Mstera, Vladimir Region. Finished the Mstera Vocational Art School in 1987. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1993.

The artist, Olga Strunina, comes from a family of lacquer box painters. Her father is the reknown artist Lev Fomichyov, and her husband is Konstantin Strunin. Although a talented artist in her own right, it is interesting to look at the family of artists as a whole, and see the influence on each other's work.

It is interesting to note that Fomichev creates his own paints from the woods around his home in Mstera. Since his Olga and Konstantin both use the same paints as Fomichyov, it interesting to see how the quality of their colors are the same or different. One can see similar painting techniques used in Olga's paintings that are also present in her father's work.
