Tatyana Petrovna Strunina

Michael Strunin Born in 1961, this well established Mstera artist seems to have been destined to paint lacquer miniatures with both her father, Pyotr Sosin , and husband, Michael Ivanovich Strunin, who works as leading Mstera Factory leading artist. Since graduating from the Mstera Art school in 1980, Strunina has become an award winning artist in her own right. She has received numerous local and national awards, and has participated in many exhibits around Russia. She was also nominated to join the Artist Union of USSR.

As an artist, Strunina is interested in fairy-tale scenes, as well as realistic ones. At this time she is mainly working in the genre of fairy-tales. Regardless of which theme she is working on, the three most important aspects her work remain the same: technique, decorativeness, and beauty of artwork. Even though Strunina always wants to do something new, she sticks to the traditions of Mstera. Not surprisingly, she also applies some of father's techniques to her own work. The final process of decorating a piece gets just as much attention as the painted scene. In Strunina's opinion, the overall quality of a box is essential, and does not consider a box finished until it is properly decorated.

Like many other women around the world, Strunina has her hands full juggling a career, caring for two children and taking care of the household chores. In her spare time, Strunina also weaves!

To her collectors: Strunina hopes that her work brings happiness and joy to your lives. She hopes that you will always find something new in her work, even when viewed again and again.
