Fedorova Oksana Yurievna (1974 - ...)  Click to play

Oksana Yurievna Fedorova was born in 1974 in the town of Volsk, Saratov Region. Currently, she resides in the town of Yuzha with her husband.

In November of 2001 she completed her studies at the Kholuy Art School where she studied under Milushina T.L., Mityashin P.A., Pechkina Zh.S., Fiskov V.T.

Her graduation project was the box entitled "Snegurochka."
Some of the more creative works of Fedorova include, "In the Gardens of St. Petersburg", "Presentment", "Snegurochka and Lel", "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" and "The Sea Song."

The artist paints her works in the traditions of Kholuy lacquered miniature style, using tempera paints and an intriguing variance in the colors selected for each composition. She loves to explore satire and fairy-tales as the subjects for her artistry.

While working on a lacquered miniature, Oksana Yurievna consistently works to improve the quality of her personal painting techniques and compose the most aesthetically pleasing miniature possible. She strives to achieve setting, a harmony between location and theme. Oksana Yurievna wishes to compose a place that is as appealing to the audience as it is appealing to the characters within.

Expressive landscapes are very important to the artist. She prefers to use cool and relaxing tones that offer a bit of realism in the weather or perhaps a sunset. This makes for a much more interesting presentation rather than a pretty painting to simply look at.

Oksana Yurievna uses her talents in a very intriguing manner. In an effort to display her flexibility as an artist, she will paint in the style frequented by Mstera artists as well as that of her own. These works grant recognition to acclaimed artists, such as Mstera master Daniil Molodkin. There is a great amount of learning to be had while interpreting the styles of another.

By rationing time and honing her skills, the artist is capable of producing an attractive work in two to three weeks. Portions of the work are separated into degrees of difficulty so that attention is paid to the most appropriate sections of the composition.

The work of Fedorova is consistently recognized for the quality of execution. Shapes and designs are painted in a very exacting manner. The decorative elements of her work compliment and do not take over the entire scale of beauty.

Works by such great Russian artists as Vasnetsov A.M., Levitan I.I., Bilibin I.Ya., Vasiliev F.A. and such miniaturists as Bazhenov P.D. (Palekh), Zubkov A.I. (Palekh), Tikhonravov B.M. (Kholuy), Denisov N.N. (Kholuy), Mityashin P.A. (Kholuy) had a great influence on Fedorova's maturation as an artist.

Oksana Yurievna loved to draw since early on in her childhood. Once her teachers at the Kholuy Art School recognized her ability, there was nothing to do but grow.

Fedorova loves to spend her free time in the country. She spends considerable amounts of time in her husband's apiary, getting a true feel for the nuances of nature.

Oksana Yurievna hopes that her works will bring the audience closer to the dreams that they were familiar with during their childhood. She wishes success to all admirers of Russian lacquer artistry.
